My Locale Colorado Rockies
About Me I'm 45 years old, 6'4" and 195 lbs. I've backpacked in the Colorado Rockies, the Wasatch and Uinta mountains, and in Zions National Park. I mountain bike in the Colorado Rockies. I've kayaked in Yellowstone and on Flaming Gorge, and rafted the Green, Colorado and Snake rivers. My trips are usually a week long or less. I love to hike wherever I can. I'm an Assistant Scout Master and I'm often out with the Scouts. My immediate goal is to thru-hike the Colorado trail. I've lived in Utah, Ohio, Illinois, Argentina, California, and Colorado.

Re: $50 eVENT jacket from Teva
Is that the Teva® Elements Trail Jacket? It's priced at $69.97. I can't find one priced at $50. The one you are referring to might be gone? I assume you are both talking about the same jacket?

Re: If you're bored.
David, I checked out the website. Thanks for sharing. The Snow Mountain Ranch is a great place. Every winter we take the scout troop there. I'll watch for you when we are there. Eric

Bill, glad to hear you no longer need a pump to blow up the balloons. What made it work for you? Are you looking a little more like Marty Feldman? :)

Re: Pertex Quantum-Cuben Fiber Bivy-Finished
Bill, did you use any 3M tape on the seams? What kind of thread do you use with the Cuben, and about how big are your stitches? It has been a real joy following your projects. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Sleeping with food
Thanks Dale, that makes sense. In the context of your post above you seemed to imply that bears are not habituated to black bags. I hadn't considered the color of my smellable bag. It's currently a...
