About Me Originally from Louisiana, I enjoyed camping in my Boy Scouting days and eventually became an Eagle Scout. Many years later (2002), I discovered backpacking after going on an REI multisport trip to Alaska. My first backpack was to Grand Canyon, and I was hooked!

YEP, just realize on fluffy snow you may sink a bit easier. On some snow it doesn't matter what you wear you still sink to your knees. It's all relative huh.

The nunatak insulation wraps around more, but I've used the RAB quantum top bag down to freezing just fine (wearing clothing and inside bivy). It's a 15 oz. piece of ultralight history....
