Dave, I replace mine with a bolt and wing nut. The wing nut allows you to get a hold of it.

Bleuet Solid Fuel
I don't know if there would be any weight savings or not as I haven't had time to look at the specs, but Bleuet has just come out with a solid fuel/solid fuel stove etc.
