Not really, it's a nylon pack. The Vapor Trail body is all 70D ripstop with 210D cordura reinforcements in a few places. Those materials don't seem to absorb water. It gets wet, but not soa...

I use a single Granite Gear hip belt pocket on my VT. I use it for my camera and usually a snack or two, and sometimes a folded up map. They work great, and are actually quite rain resistant.
