My Locale Washington
About Me I'm originally from PA and was interested in backpacking so I decided to buy "The Backpacker's Handbook" By Chris Townsend when I was 19. His book is how I first heard of lightweight backpacking. Three years later I joined the NAVY and was stationed at Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA. I did my first day hike up Marmot Pass in 2008 and was amazed. I had never seen anything like it before. That hike made me decide I had to have backpacking gear before the next season. This forum has helped me start out right with smart lightweight gear choices.

can I do it myself or does a moderator have to do this. It should say June instead of July. Thanks.

Tenkara Rods - UL fishing...
I'm very interested in this product. It has its limitations but it's a third of the price and half the weight of a quality fly fishing rod/reel. I would love to see some user photos too.

Shenadoah hike (my son'd 1st overnight)
Is that in the skyline drive area? I lived in Martinsburg, WV and would drive down there just to cruise on the mountain top roads. Beautiful area.

Loop trip
I vote for the eastern pasayton loop too. 65 miles long and usually open late June. Gets top ratings for scenery and solitude. I was going to do this loop but the trail head is something like 7 hou...
