My Locale Radio Free Pineland
About Me I started backpacking in the BSA decades ago and am a Philmont guy...completed the elite Philmont Rayado Trek, Trail Crew guy and was on Philmont staff (base camp staff).

http://www.scouting.org/philmont/camping/solo/rayado.html

I was formally accepted by Philmont to be a Philmont Ranger, but cancelled my Phil-contract at the last moment because of an overuse injury.

I have already done a lot of lightweight backpacking in my past (but not UL). UL is hopefully in my future.

There is nothing at all wrong with high end merino wool, especially for socks, gloves, hats and long underwear. But the best wool is that itchy (well SOME call it itchy) coarse wool that people com...
