My Locale Scotts Valley CA via San Jose, CA
About Me A return to backpacking after a musicians life. Hiked with too much weight before finding out the "lite" side. I live in Scotts Valley which is right in the middle of the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains, and only 10 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from Los Gatos. Love the Sierra's!!! Too many places to see and go!

Re: Re: Re: Revelation or Amp
Robert I would go with ULA Conduit. 3200 ci. Between a cannister, tarp, clothing, other small items those two packs might just be a tad too small. You can check mine out in a few weeks.

fine suggestions on the high route and Mono via Koip area of Yosemite. Also agree on the PCT information which the JMT shares much of its mileage with. There are a few places available to mail supp...

Re: BA SL2 condensation
I have the SL3 for my wife and I. We compared the two side by side and climbed inside each one. The SL3 was much more roomier than the SL2. Both are nice tents. If you are to spend sometime in a te...

Oh and Backpacker is about as useful as a kick in the pants. Nada. Stopped my subscription and I will never renew again. Why? They are turning into a magazine ala Outdoor or National Geographic Exp...

Been using ULA packs for years. Bought the P2, P1 and now the Conduit. All are excellent in their own way. Customer service is perfect and so is the gear. Great packs!!!

Bear Boxer 101 Contender
Came home to find a rather colorful small box on my porch today. Wow it is small. I have always thought that it would be cool to have a small bear cannister for 1-2 nights of backpacking. Well here it...
