About Me Expeditions and off trail secluded climbs are where you will find me. Or hopefully not find me as the case may be. You will never find me camping at a lake for instance with a nice campfire ring and a public whistler. I really don't like 2 or 4 ooted mice... Ok, most aren't 2 footed mice, but they all chew holes either in your pack or you.

Re: Re: Buying Sight Unseen

winter pack
Yes, but said pack has to be able to stuff the clothes you are wearing as temperatures change as well. Thus its far closer to Skin out weight than some nebulous "baseweight". This would...

For my money, April In the olympics? Maybe 50% half decent weather. Can also be perfectly clear for a week at that time of year or completely soaking wet for a couple days at a time. Generally f...

Re: Re: Re: Re: mt. baker
One thing to watch out for is super soft snow. Happens early season all the time. Especially if its steep: You simply can't stop on it. Period. The pick is too small, the adze isn't la...

Winter multi-day packs
For winter, basically just a big bag with tie ons for the bulky sleeping bag and tie ons for the shovel, hardier tent, bigger closed cell foam sleeping mats as you don't trust airmattresses 100...
