My Locale Scotts Valley CA via San Jose, CA
About Me A return to backpacking after a musicians life. Hiked with too much weight before finding out the "lite" side. I live in Scotts Valley which is right in the middle of the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains, and only 10 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from Los Gatos. Love the Sierra's!!! Too many places to see and go!

Re: vehicle to the trailhead
Jeff, that is true about the clearance. I drive a Honda CRV and it's built on a car chassis. I love how it handles and the space I have in it. I have had the thing for 7 years now with no issue...

Re: Re: How far is "too far" for an overnighter?
Have no problem driving 5-6 hours to a trailhead in the Sierras for an overnighter. I also have the luxury of being 20 minutes to some in the Santa Cruz Mountains

Re: "Hey 120 Opening"
David, I think you are correct about 108 having more miles. I like the fact that it is less stressful. 120 can really be a pain sometimes. Speeders, RV's etc.

Been using ULA packs for years. Bought the P2, P1 and now the Conduit. All are excellent in their own way. Customer service is perfect and so is the gear. Great packs!!!

Came home to find a rather colorful small box on my porch today. Wow it is small. I have always thought that it would be cool to have a small bear cannister for 1-2 nights of backpacking. Well here it...
