About Me I've been a camper all my life. BK: (before kids) the wife and I would throw our bikes and a little wheeled trunk in the back of the plane and head for the boonies just about every weekend. AK: Camping was a rarity, but we took day hikes with the kids. Now the kids are on their own and we've discovered lightweight backpacking. Been doing it for three years. Base pack weight is 14lb and decreasing. Tent is now a Hennessy Hyperlight and I've replaced the Miniworks with a Sawyer.

Re: Re: Re: results of my ongoing experiments with this design
I was able to boil a liter of 20 C water in a broad pan in 5.9 minutes. I think any inefficiency in my fan is due to the fact that I'm moving much more air than is necessary with my 1.5Watt fa...

Re: results of my ongoing experiments with this design
I made my fire box out of paper thin titanium (0.005") from TI Goat. It's had countless fires in it. No sign of cracking or flaking. It's amazing stuff. I'm using a 5 volt, 1...

does it have to be?
I wasn't aware that it ever had to be. I own a lot of sil-nylon stuff, but none of the instructions mentioned ever having to re-coat. What makes you ask the question? H
