It's easy It's easy. You said they were equal, but one was more money. Buy the cheaper one. We're terrible in this country about equating quality with sticker price only. And it's made a lot of c... |

Sleeping I don't care what it calculates out to.......I'm using my Insul-Mat max thermo, and sleeping like a baby. I've gotten too old to go strictly on efficiency. |

Bugs I used some 100% DEET last fall on a trip, and accidently got it on my trekking pole handles. It seemed to eat them, and they're still sticky. That scares me. I did have good luck with peremeth... |

Crack It's sailors crack too.......but imagine buying 600 square feet of it. Between sailing, shooting, and skiing......backpacking is the cheapest of my addictions..... |

Lafuma I did try out my Lafuma this weekend. Quite possibly the snuggest fitting bag I've ever tried. No way the "warm up" system works with me. It ran out of gas between 30-35 degrees, and ... |

Marmot Atom Mens Regular 40 Degree Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating. |

ULA Catalyst Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o... |

ULA Circuit Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service. |

Osprey Exos 58 I have to ding it a little for the hip belt. I think the hip belts on the large runs small, because it didn't wrap around me enough to be effective. And that may not be fair to ding it, because al... |

Golite Ultra 20 Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price. |
