Packs with mesh Exterior pockets
That's kind of a Snobby outlook Rodger. My exterior back pocket holds a 10 oz tarp (No reason to carry a 0.5 oz tarp stuff sack) Not Heavy or stupid. To each is there own- HYOH!

Pants for Three Seasons
Check out BPL's Trekking Thorofare Pants. Very breathable, bug proof and lightweight. A XL comes in at 4.4oz. I have heard of people using them on bike rides also. Goodluck
