Insul Mat Max Thermo. I don't care what it weighs, it's worth it, and I'm carrying it. The balloon bed looks interesting though, but I bet you'd get pretty aggravated blowing it up ...

Trading an insulmat for a ridgerest would have to be the most unfair trade in the world. After a certain age, you just can't do a ridgerest.

I think you still see a lot of giant packs amoung young scouts for three reasons. The first reason is that "Be prepared" has become "Be over-prepared". And with the mommies of m...

Nice! Looks like you missed a lot of the pollution coming up out of Juarez, and from the power plants.

I prefer the one with the ventilated crown. But it doesn't rain much here. You can beat that price pretty easily on EBay.

I haven't weighed it, supposed to be 3# 3oz. I'll stick it on the mail scale at work some time. It just worries me that the top 4" of the shoulder harness assembly don't touch any ...

Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.
