Really little front bike light
I saw a flashlight like that with a Cree LED and bike mount for $8 on EBay the other day.

Sterno cook pot and stand
I remember the coffee can with the bailing wire handle too Jim. We just threw it away after every trip.

Sterno cook pot and stand
I have one of those Sterno stoves like that somewhere, but I never backpacked with it. The real UL way to cook was over a wood fire.

I think the USTA quit recommending static stretching back in the 90s, and started recommending dynamic stretching. There are several studies out showing a loss of power due to stretching before exe...

Good softshell choice
Oh, who needs a dead bird on their jacket in the wilderness? I hope they work, I had to order one for my son at $39.

Went for a day hike...
I always thought you were supposed to wrap the duct tape around your foot, so you couldn't slide forward and blow the toes out. Learn something every day. I'm glad to see someone besides me...

Talk me out of an Exos 58
Cool pack, but I thought the hip belt was going to cut me in half. I wanted the Exos to work so badly that I bought a 46 and a 58. My skinny buddy loves my 58 now. Sold both to finance a ULA Cataly...

GoPro HD Helmet HERO Camera
We made it thru the crack, just had to chimney a ways over some water. It was a lot of fun for 2 dorks from the Texas Panhandle. The stills have a bit of a fisheye, which is a bit irritating. I did...

Cool pack, although I can't look at that name without thinking of Monty Python.

Marmot Atom Mens Regular 40 Degree
Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

ULA Catalyst
Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

Osprey Exos 58
I have to ding it a little for the hip belt. I think the hip belts on the large runs small, because it didn't wrap around me enough to be effective. And that may not be fair to ding it, because al...

Golite Ultra 20
Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
