Czech Nymphing with Tenkara
Craig, CZN is well-suited to Tenkara - with caveats. I tie my own braided leaders, and create very loose leaders that are 8-12" in diameter. Loose to provide some additional elasticity t...

Stock Alerts and the BPL Store (was: Tenkara Hane)
Jack - we're going to make some significant store strategy changes in 2010. Stock alerts are going to be a critical component of that strategy. We actually do pay attention to them, and they ar...

Hey Chris, thanks for the kind comments. I'm glad to you you moving forward in your quest. I've used the Mica. It's more comfortable than I originally thought, I like the breathabili...

Zealots / Triumph -> Mica
Add the Marmot Mica to the list. It's a smidge heavier than the Triumph, probably. It's compactability is the best of the bunch, if that is important to you.

Re: Tenkara
Richard -- you don't want to do this. First, that's too much weight for the limber tip of a Tenkara rod. Second, there's moral issues involved... ;) RJ

Re: Tenkara
Rick makes some very good points. The primary reason for the short length of the Hane is not to minimize weight - the difference between 2.7 and 3.0 oz is just about meaningless, after all - but...

Our package includes the line but not the tippet or flies. Tippets a funny thing, rabid fly fisherman are pretty particular about it! I used to tie flies commercially and miss it. It was a lot o...

Yes, the Hane will ship with a line. 10'6" braided Tenkara line, green in color - yes, the $20 lines on the Tenkara website.

Mike Clelland! GOO Energy Gel
I've used Mike's, and made my own per his recipe. It's nasty. The color, I mean. Like a pukey green. But then again, that may very well provide some of its social appeal when hiking or skiing in...
