About Me Expeditions and off trail secluded climbs are where you will find me. Or hopefully not find me as the case may be. You will never find me camping at a lake for instance with a nice campfire ring and a public whistler. I really don't like 2 or 4 ooted mice... Ok, most aren't 2 footed mice, but they all chew holes either in your pack or you.

Re: Boots boots boots? help!
Trail walking. Trail runners are great. Off trail work, you really will want boots with a fairly stiff sole for side hilling. Though I note that you are in the east coast where there isn't ...

Hmm actually for trecking or advanced walking I prefer an alpenstock. They are generally about the length of a standard trecking pole but with a pick for stopping on hard snow/ice. There are some...

Re: Re: Suluk 46
For snow on summer low altitude climbs where the snow is always soft, just about any ice axe will work. This includes aluminum heads. If you are going up anywhere you think there will be hard...

Its the camera, not the light weight gear that matters. The camera brings home the memories and keeps them alive as screen savers and as wall posters. The camera provides inspiration to climb a l...
