UL
I know this is heresy, but as I've started going lighter, I've been pretty shocked by what it can cost. So I would say make it cheaper, or at least cost competitive. It's like green pro...

I buy whatever pops up on my Steep and Cheap alert. I've bought a couple of pairs of Smiths with interchangable lenses for under $40.

Philmont
The more I read about the rules at Philmont, the less I'm looking forward to going there next summer. Maybe I can talk the troop into going to a wilderness area somewhere.

I'm sure if they changed the "Coleman" label to North Face, or MSR, and doubled the price, these stoves would sell like hotcakes. And I think you can order them direct from Coleman. A...

Lasik
So how long did it take your eyes to stabilize after lasik? I'm still waiting, although my problems may be more related to the monovision I had done. I used to work for a company that would pay...

Book
I read the book. Tragic, but foolish. Long on romanticism, short on common sense. Perfect for Penn.

So
So can we re-print this, and hand it out to parents? And I also think cost is the major hurdle to most parents. Maybe I live in the wrong part of the world, but most of our parents balk at spen...

Re: ..
I never sterilized my hands, even at home. I would just wash them as best I could, and store the contacts at night in solution. Throw them away after 30 days. Then I got lasered.

Re: Best sleep
Hammocks work great, I'm sure. Except where I live. I'm not carrying two trees around.

Pad
I think a lot of the ability to sleep depends less on your pad, and more on your age. I know when I was 30, I could sleep great on anything. The aches and pains of a misspent youth have really caug...

Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

I have to ding it a little for the hip belt. I think the hip belts on the large runs small, because it didn't wrap around me enough to be effective. And that may not be fair to ding it, because al...

Golite Ultra 20
Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
