That's just silly. Of all the things to waste effort on.

If you buy your packtowel from an internet, non-camping source, they're about a thousand times cheaper.

SUL water
When I have to carry that kind of water, I just break down and drag out the old Kelty 50th Anniversary.

I haven't worried about the economy, because ours has been great. But now that the price of oil is crashing, our local economy will go in the toilet.

I also carry the POE Insulmat Max Thermo. It is an essential; I can't sleep without it.

My first weight drop, if you want to call it that, was down to a Kelty 50th Anniversay. Shortly after that, I went to a REI UL Cruise 60, which I've been very happy with. Just went down again, ...

Bear can
Maybe they'll get the bear bag (don't remember the company) approved, and you won't have to carry a canister. One good thing about the GoLites, you can buy two of them for what one of s...

I'm not sure I reached 75% maturity until a few years after my twins were born. The wife would probably argue I still haven't.

Marmot Atom Mens Regular 40 Degree
Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

Golite Ultra 20
Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
