Re: Re: Frogg Toggs Jacket
It's in the camping section. It's also a new addition at the closest Walmart too. They had a section along the wall with rain gear, but I guess it was full because they put the Dri Ducks ...

Re: What's the purpose of camp shoes?
I use either slides or flip flops for camp shoes because of how I use them. I use them during breaks to air out my feet. I want maximum air flow, but in some places I don't want to walk bar...

Re: Lighter pack with hammock/quilts mounted to the side or heavier pack with them inside?
+4 I keep my quilt inside for protection against rips, filth, moisture and accidental loss. I don't find it bulky at all when stuffed loosely and tightly. I've fit a quilt, poncho tarp...

Re: PCT Thru Hike Clothing
I have convertible pants, but I've only removed the bottoms one time on the trail for a creek crossing. It took so long that I never did it again. I prefer boxer briefs with a 9" insea...

Re: Down in a Nonbreathable shell
Polycryo (window film) is more like 0.75 mil. That's crazy that that plastic down bag worked for him.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Fly Issue
You'd need guylines that run from the poles to the ground. I'm thinking that the corners of the tarp would slide up those guylines as its deployed. The upper/outer corners of the net tent...

Re: Re: Re: Sourcing down from this a good idea?
A guy on Wintertrekking.com said it was better than 700 fp. I wish I knew myself, but they were out of stock the last time I needed down.

Re: Re: Fly Issue
Right. The view would be about the same in many side entry tents with double doors. I bet you can get a full view with a net tent, a tarp and some fancy rigging. I'd want some loops to hol...
