About Me I've been backpacking since the early 70's . For the past 16 years it's been day hiking as our daughter grew up , with camping in the Cascades every summer. Now we are ready to take her deeper in , and I'm re-equipping us for lighter travel. Photography is a major hobby, as well as Chinese gardens and travel in China.

Laptop HDD's in a generic enclosure via USB are small and lighter. A dock like the Blacx lets you do either size drive and e-sata as well. Read reviews at Newegg as to failure of various drives...
