My Locale SouthEast
About Me 39 year old living in Greenville, SC. I grew up playing in the woods of the PeeDee region of SC. I'm an avid cyclist with a new found passion for bikepacking. I do most of my bike camping, hiking, kayaking and cycling in SC, NC & GA. I've settled in at about 10 to 12 pounds completely loaded at this point - a balance of comfort walking and in camp.

GPS Routes
Thanks, Jamie. I've always enjoyed your trip reports and gear projects. I'm pretty new to the GPS game. The routes on the ISO maps were just imports from the GPS into Garmin Topo software. ...

Cutting Straps
Go to your outfitter and ask to borrow the hot knife they use to cut poly rope. Works like a charm and will start an interesting conversation guaranteed. Don Meredith lightpack.blogspot.com

Looking for advice... Grace Duo + MLD Serenity for Cascades summer?
I'm using that exact combination for my trips here in the SE. The two play together very nicely and perform well in heavy rain. I got the Duo to give me plenty of space to cook and relax with m...

The GoLite Ion and the GoLite Wisp. I won't need a Wisp for awhile but REALLY like mine. I was annoyed at the last year changes to the Ion but I'd still take it over nothing. I wasn't f...
