About Me 43, and in some of the best shape of my life after losing 50 lbs a couple years ago. I've always loved getting "out there" and backpacking is one of my preferred ways. I spend as much time as I can backpacking and car camping with my kids during the Summer. I'm an avid target shooter and enjoy kayaking with my family, ATVing and snowmobiling, and just about anything that get's me in the outdoors.

FS: Granite Gear Blaze AC 60 - New
Got this pack for Christmas as a "surprise", but I don't really need a new pack. Brand new (although I removed the tags), never worn outside, includes the GG belt pouch, again, brand...

CS 2
Hi Ben, I know this isn't apples-to-apples, but I had my Copper Spur 2 in a storm last year with 30+ mph winds and rain, not a drop made it inside and the tent had no problem with the wind. We...

Lunar Duo to the StratoSpire 2
Franco, thanks - That is very quick. I couldn't tell from the video, is that pitched with the net tent inside already, or just the tarp?

Set up?
I too am interested in thoughts between these two tents, I've been considering selling my BA Copper Spur and replacing it with the SMD LD, the SS2 looks very nice, but pitching the LD looks to ...

Have you looked at SMD?
Six Moon Designs has some pretty large packs, pretty sure the Swift is only 15oz w/o the stay and a few people have actually found it too large.

Packing in a Halfdome
Ben, I'm guessing you already plan to strap the Halfdome on the top (or bottom) of the pack. I used to pack in a Halfdome before I started going light and you'd need a big pack to be able ...

Tentbound and by the campfire - kid's questions
I do a fair amount of car camping with my kids as well as backpacking. The one thing I never leave w/o is a couple decks (when car camping, 1 if backpacking) of "Kid's Questions". E...

Enlightened Equipment Revelation X
This was my first quilt, and I couldn't be happier. I needed a new cold weather bag, so I went with the 20F 6' Wide and had the 30% over stuff. The loft on this quilt is incredible, more tha...

gossamer murmur
I would have liked to give the 2012 Murmur a 4.5 if I could have. My only criticism is that the stitching is not as well done as I would have expected. There were a few loose threads in some of the ...
