I got one
I just bought one. This summer I was in grizzly country a lot and a couple of times it was pretty hard to find a good bear hang. I still prefer hanging the food way out of the bears reach. But in...

HMG Porter
I bought the 2014 version of the Porter 4400 when I realized none of my current packs could handle a packraft, PFD and five days of food. It works pretty well but the hipbelt doesn't transfer ...

Good Shoes
I wore a pair packrafting in the Bob this summer. I liked the traction a lot better then my Altra Lone Peaks. Only bummer is the tops wear through pretty fast. At that price though hard to beat.

Re Re Bobwhite Packraft Loop
It was definitively a great loop and thanks to Dave for putting it together. A very good learning experience for trips I did later. I'll try to post pics later.

Make the First Trip Fun
If the 7 year old is interested in camping great! But I'd suggest a tent that everyone shares at first. That way he'll feel nice and safe and have fun. Later on you can introduce tarps o...

Just got out and bugs were bad at times but manageable with some DEET and long sleaves.
