My Locale Midwest
About Me I am in my late-40's and really got interested in backpacking about 10 years ago as a way to have some concentrated time with my boys, now all finishing up high school or in college. I try to get out a few times a year, including a bi-annual trip to Colorado for some of the big stuff. Otherwise I am stuck in the very boring midwest where everything exciting is a good day's drive away.

Pack and pad
I have an Osprey Atmos 50 pack in size large that I would let go, as well as a Thermarest ProLite 4 long. I'll follow up tonight when I get home from work.

But can you cook in it?
I agree that it is easy to find something like the plastic bowls and there are a lot of threads on it. But what about one that you can cook with/in?

Sawyer Mini leaking with a Platy
Has anyone else had a difficult time matching up the threads on your Platypus and the Sawyer Mini filter? This past weekend I got a leak-free exchange maybe 1 out of 5 times. Very frustrating.

Thanks for the analysis
Cameron, thanks for the write up. One of the reasons I am a member here (other than scoring deals on gear) is to learn more. I don't get out as much as I would like and therefore don't ha...

Love 'em both
I bought both the SD BC Quilt and the SD BC Bed at the same time when they came out, thinking I would try them both out and return one. I liked the design of them both so much that I've kept t...
