quadcopter/drones for backpacking (the future is coming)
Every time I complain about Google, or the NSC monitoring all email and cell phone calls, or the drone war killing children in Pakistan, I'm accused of being a right-wing nut job. Probably am. ...

What would you have done?
I was raised to help people like that, so I probably would have done the same thing, unless there was something obvious to get my spidey-sense tingling. If I was with my wife, would certainly have ...

Am I the only person in the world who found the Exos 46 and 58 to be incredibly uncomfortable? I guess I am. All I wanted to add, and I hope I didn't miss it, is someetimes your hip will hurt i...

So....how do you all feel about Oregon??
Peak oil task force. That's awesome. It would be even more awesome if it was Peak Oil was a real occurance. That theory was developed before shale oil, and doesn't take it into account. Oop...

So....how do you all feel about Oregon??
I'm with Sarah. Don't wear your politics on your sleeve, and most places (and people) are great in the west. And beside, no one at the grocery store cares if you're one of the intellect...

@Mike Wow, I'll quit whining about my knee now. And my hip has been hurting since I tried to start running last summer, and now I'm afraid to get it looked into! Anyway, good luck with you...

Marmot Atom Mens Regular 40 Degree
Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
