Re: ZPacks Arc Haul
I wore the pack for a six day hike on the AT in Southwest Virginia (Atkins to Damascus). The key pocket turned out to not be an issue at all. I could easily roll up the top with my wallet and c...

Re: Do you pack a pillow?
My wife loves her Coccoon pillow. Me, I'm partial to my Zpacks stuff sack with the microfleece liner - turn it inside out, put some clothing inside, instant pillow. (Yes, I do have spare clothi...

Re: ZPacks Arc Haul
My Arc Haul just showed up in the mail. Preliminary thoughts: 1. Like everything else I have received from Zpacks, this is exceptionally well made. 2. It's going to be hard to fill this ...

Re: Noob needs help picking between the ULA Ohm 2.0 or Circuit.
Honestly, I think if you're not sure which one to get, get the Circuit. The weight difference is not substantial, and the Circuit is a lot easier to (ab)use especially for a noob. I've owne...

Re: Favorite Sony Lens
I picked up an A6000 for the first time last night, as a colleague had brought one to dinner. He had the 19mm Sigma on it and said very nice things about that lens. Playing with the combo for a few...

Re: Retroactive Overfill from WM
They did my Megalite last year, at that point it must have been eight or nine years old. Came back looking like a new bag -- all puffy :) -- and I couldn't see anywhere they had opened and stit...

Re: Ursack vs Critters (not bears)?
We carried Ursacks on the AT for many years due to mouse and squirrel issues. In Shenandoah I watched a raccoon try to get into my Ursack (the green one) for a little while before moving on to easi...

Re: Which small camera with viewfinder?
I have an RX100 Mark II, and the Mark III adds the viewfinder and a wider and faster lens. Probably the best current choice for a serious but small backpacking camera. The Panasonic LX100 also ...

Photon Freedom Micro (White)
The newest version is the Photon Freedom To The Max, which uses some sort of new technology in the LED that doubles brightness while not using any more battery power. Nice. The Doug Ritter edition ...

Marmot Ion
I just received my Marmot Ion jacket from Campmor, and I agree with the two most recent posts. I don't think it's sil-nylon, exactly, but my hiking test had water beading up on the inside whil...
