Re: Re: I think I want a duomid?
Another vote for the tarptent SS1. Really enjoying this tent and is a lot less fiddly than my trailstar. Tarptent also sells it as a fly only if you aren't looking for an inner tent.

Re: Windshirt sizing
I thought I had read where the new model was made with runners in mind. That's probably why it is tighter than the 2012. Maybe someone else can chime in to verify.

Re: New 2013 Tarptent Models
Being able to buy the fly only might be the answer for people that dislike mid shelters due to the pole being in the center. I have the SS1 and it seems to help a lot with usable space

Re: SS1 fly
Is it possible to setup an SS1 inner in an SS2? Might be a good way to justify buying an SS2 fly for myself

Re: Air Beam Support
Agreed, Dan. As I said before, the pad seems tough. But I always have it in the back of my mind that it could puncture if i have it out of the pack. I planned on using it as part of a pillow system...

Re: Re: Re: Hipbelt
I tried on an REI Flash 62 the other day and the frame seemed no stronger than the airframe. The hipbelt was amazing in comparison though. The hipbelt is where I would gladly add weight to my pack

Re: Hipbelt
Travis, Completely agree. I can get by with the hipbelt on the FS if I am just hiking and sleeping and/or taking minimal comfort items. It is when I want to carry additional items like my DSLR t...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Air beam/Klymit frame support for backpacks
Yes. If I could add something like the ULA hipbelt, the pack would be even better for me. The air frame works very well. I do wish that something could also be done to contain the bulging of the ba...
