About Me Hiking is something I kind of fell into to. I have always enjoyed camping both as a child and now as an adult. When my brother decided to take up hiking I noticed that all my friends enjoyed it too.
I like the minimalist philosophy of less is more. From the beginning I have made an effort to carry as little weight as possible and only what I need. The concept was one I had been practicing on family vacations and trips since I was a teenager.

Re: towels
I've been seeing a lot of commercials lately for ShamWow. Not sure if they're any different than other shammies. But aren't all these camp towels pretty much the same thing?

Safe cut can opener - DIY cook pot
My camera has been acting up ever since my bachelor party! But I was able to get some good shots with it. Here's a set of photos on Flickr for how I've opened 8oz and 12oz aluminum cans.

I saw those can openers at Target for about $10 and was finally able to score one at my local thrift shop for $4. It was able to open an 8oz can and the larger 12oz can but I had to first remove...

Re: Powder Coating stakes
Linsey, you are correct, powder coating can sometimes chip since it's basically a baked on glaze. I know someone that could powder coat my stakes for me so I'm considering trying it out. If...
