You can try Eddie Bauer First Ascent stuff. Pretty good. Not the absolute lightest, but best bang for your buck. And they do tall sizing too.

You might want to consider Kooka Bay (kookabay.com) pads made by Bender on BPL. Probably the lightest pad for the price, but not sure of his int'l shipping policies.

How tall and max price
Robert, There are many bags out there and some with extraordinary prices too! I know you said price was a consideration, but how much? I see the two bags you are talking about range from $50-$100...

Mike, I know Ti Goat has 0.45 and 0.6 diameter poles, not sure if that's internal or external diameter. Probably could just email and ask. And, they should be able to cut it to whatever length ...

When I was hiking on my off days as a philmont ranger (6ft 210lbs), if I wasn't trying to loose weight, I was usually taking 3000-3500 kcals/day and doing 20-25 miles per day. That usually work...
