My Locale Mt. Lassen - Shasta, N. Cal.
About Me Happy to find this site. Camping, hiking, whatever - love kayaks and have a bunch of foldables if people are ever in the area and want to use one - including a Klepper double which is great for taking gear and two people anywhere, including by sail in low wind conditions. Spent so much time reviewing all the posts and articles here over Thanksgiving I thought I would fill in some blanks. Me and partner live a few miles from Lassen peak on Hwy. 44 if you want to look it up and are in the area. Welcome to use our home as a base.

The yerbe mate that you get should be ordered from someone who states it is the "energy" type from south america. There are some that don't produce much kick, others have had me craw...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Northern Lites Snowshoes: 25" or 30"?
I think you will love them, based on my experience -- even if a smaller shoe might work sometimes, you can always get a much cheaper pair of shoes that are shorter and heavier than the 30" Nor...

Brett -- Agree about the MSR. Also noted the stove in Bill's post. It is similar to what I have been experimenting with for a wood stove. It works so far, but Bill's version is better tha...

Re: Monsterpod and Gorillapod tripods
I don't think the Monsterpod is the same as the Gorillapod. My partner got me a Gorillapod for SLR's, weighing 5.5 oz. for xmas and it works great with a Nikon D50 and 28 x 200 mm autofocu...

Joshua -- you are correct, the tab burned faster because it was consumed in less time than when it is in the open air. Never thought of that. bd

Outdoor Products Hall Pass Day/O'Nite Pack
