Re: Re: Re: Durability
Thanks for clarifying that David. Way better than I thought it would be, based upon its weight.

Re: cost
It's an extra $20 between the two. Price isn't a factor between the Firstlight and Hilight. Between those two, I chose the Firstlight because it is better for my purposes.

Re: waterproof
I have the newer one, though I've ridden out storms in the old one as well. You won't get soaked in a rain storm, but the walls of the tent will certainly be covered with condensation. Y...

Re: Decisions..decisions. BD firstlight or hilight?
The Firstlight and Hilight are basically the same tent. The only practical difference is the door: the Hilight's is bigger, but off to one side (one person will have to crawl over the other to ...

Re: Sleeping bag w/o open baffles?

Re: Would I regret using a 32 degree bag in sub zero temps?
An 8000m down suit would complement a 32ยบ bag quite nicely. Hardly weight or space-effecient though. And much more costly than a winter sleeping bag.

Re: Nice comments
Just look at the shape for what I mean. Katabatic is a mummy quilt. Closed footbox, radical shape. Enlightened is more of a box cut. Full or half taper, still basically a rectangle. Zip-up fo...
