My Locale California
About Me I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my wife and two children. I have hiked and backpacked throughout the state and beyond. I'm always looking to lighten my pack and lengthen the days and mileage of my trips. Favorite trips I've taken include thru-hikes of the John Muir Trail, High Sierra Trail, and Tahoe Rim Trail.

Re: JMT... Best spot for zero day.
Before I had even finished reading your post I was going to say Evolution Lake. I spent lunch there and would have loved to stay overnight but pushed over Muir instead.

Kens: My son and I will be arriving Friday, but hiking in before dark. What campsite do we have Friday at Manzanita? We'll be waiting for you when you arrive. Jeremy.

Great shots
Nice pix Cameron. Tony takes more pics, but you've got the right equipment. It was great hiking with you part of the way. Glad we finally got to do the JMT. -Jeremy.
