Tents
That BA Fly Creek Platinum 1 sounds neat. A 27 oz tent is nice. Anybody have any idea how that material holds up without a ground cloth? With the ground cloth, it's in the range of my Kilo 1...

Mini Ranger
Mike M., Any reason why they discontinued it? I really like my Ranger. It's easy to use and accurate. Best compass I've owned, hands down. A lighter and smaller one would be perfect, e...

camera
It's tough to find a camera since there are so many different--and different quality--options. I was forced to look for a new one after my beloved Canon a590 started giving me blurry pictures ...

I have both but lean toward the sawyer (I still have a soft spot for my trustee Hiker though). Gravity setup is nice and it's easy to fill my platy. Pen is good for doing a liter or so in a b...

Maybe try on a few packs
You may want to go to REI and just try on packs. Maybe start with the Aether series by Osprey. It's pretty popular and known to carry weight well. The 60 is the smaller size but is big enough...
