About Me I grew up in VA exploring and camping the woods around my house. As a teen in the 80's I learned how to backpack by reading books. Back then my pack weight was a respectable 27 lbs and I hit the woods every chance I got. Once adult life took over it was rare to take an overnighter. I faced several challenges during my middle age life and turned to the outdoors to restore me. As my knowledge and skills advanced, my base weight dropped to below 5 lbs. With this came a freedom that I had never experienced before.

re: Length
I assume Tim did this one as a custom length. For comparison, MLD's small quilt is 66" long. It is recommended for users 5'4" in height or less. Jamie

Matt, You just had to post this. I've resisted the urge to get this fabric until I saw your post. I pulled the trigger and got a M50 quilt kit. What I am hoping is that machine setup will be si...

Travis, I'm stumped then. How about a trail star that pitches 2.5" above the ground:) Jamie

re: ""Make Your Own Trailstar?" or "Where can I buy wide silnylon?""
Looks like Ron is getting extra width from the dyneema at top...i.e. the triangle don't go all the way to the peak. I'd guess 3 inches...so I am a bit stumped how he is able to get a full 7...
