My Locale Western US
About Me Mostly 2 to 3 day loops, with a couple weeklong trips too, likely going 2 weeks or more with upcoming severance. Lightening up but with an eye towards toughness and hiking convenience (secure drying on the trail. quick set up, etc...), maybe better food (and beverage) for most overnights. Then again I might want to do a spartan "fast n'light" overnight ... and the gear closet grows.
I'll update my gear list tomorrow ...

Re: Re: Camo Re: Lawson Outdoor Equipment Backpack
Think just a hat would do it in addition to earth tones and a pack cover (or even panel) - I could see the Lawson pack if rooting around in the brush though. Now that I think about it, a gray...

Solitude in Yukon's winter backcountry

Camo Re: Lawson Outdoor Equipment Backpack
For wildlife viewing I could see a camo pack. Got surprised by a giant bald eagle, crashing through the upper branches like they were nothing, a couple days ago while hiking up "3 rivers&quo...

Lighter weight loads but there's also the tendency for frameless packs to roll cylindrically with too much stuff. May bug some people, others not. Add: the old version of the Granite Gear V...

Re: Los Padres Overnight.
Nice except for the bear sign. Not sure I'd sleep tight. How's the water situation in the creeks up there? (Think I'll ask pre-trip too)
