My Locale South Florida
About Me I have a place in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and hike there a few times a year and looking forward to retiring there in a few years.

In Florida, most of my camping involves kayaking on our beautiful river swamps and kicking the alligators off the banks to pitch a tent.

Re: "Feedback wanted from tarp users"
That is true, Josh, but my OES Spinn tarp has plastic "D" rings on the tie-outs to prevent the cord from sawing though.

Re: "Lyme Disease: Challenging Old Stereotypes"
Excellent article! It's cool to read about the latest tent but when push comes to shove, articles like this will keep us all happy campers. Thank you!

Re: Where to place an inline filter in the line?
For highest flow rate, place the filter near the bottom of the hose. And, the longer the hose, the better. This creates pressure provided by the height of the column of water, to push the water thr...

Opinel and filleting fish?
How are these Opinel's for filleting fish? The weight would indicate a very thin blade, I would think.

Anyone heard of this new, lightweight fabric?
http://www.everest.com.tw/_english/04_news/03_newsdetail.aspx?ID=49 I apologize for not knowing how to place a real "link" but the fabric looks interesting, if it's not all hype.
