My Locale Arizona
About Me Scoutmaster that doesn't like to lug around a 40 lb pack any more. I have achieved at least ultra light. Pack with TT Rainbow for 2 or a tarp and bivy for solo, BA Horsethief bag and IAC pad(I need a good nights sleep) and a modified Osprey Exos 46 pack for my big 3. I am down to base of 9lbs 10 oz, lbs with all dodads and warm clothing (Ibex and Mont-Bell). With 3 days of food and necessary water I am right at 15 lbs 15 oz. A big improvement over my old 40 lb pack.

I use the Aquafina 1L bottles with my Stripen Journey. The pen fits in the neck perfectly, turn the bottle over and Viola, perfect seal to sterilize the water.

Blue foam pad?
Depends, do you want to be comfortable or not? If you don't need insulation, then a regular kooka bay will weigh in at 12.5 for a 72 inch 2.5 inch thick mummy pad. waaaay more comfortable tha...

Ah, yes the Ti Bivy, it easily fits in the daypack. I had one, but it was overkill for Arizona, I needed more Bug than Bivy.

I use rechargeables for everything Except my Steripen and Fenix flashlights. I get the streamlight brand of C123 batteries on Amazon. well priced and last very long.

Contrail roomy?
The Contrail didn't feel very roomy. I didn't like the fron entrance, and it got real cramped with head room real fast. I am MUCH happier with the Rainbow. The new Sublite looks appealin...

Titanuium Goat Ptarmigan Bivy
Are you kidding me? This Bivy does it all! For $45 less than the next best made bag, which doesn't have the option of an all net AND all nylon hood. Plus I only had to wait 2 days, not 2 months...

The IBEX Woolies Crew keeps me warm when it is cool and cool when it is warm, Amazing. The wool is even softer than on my Icebreaker 140 technical T. I love this shirt (and the pants too!)

This is a great light pack. I tried the Frame-less packs and they are not for me FOR THE RECORD - THIS IS an INTERNAL FRAME PACK, the review doesn't belong here.
