Yea, I have done an 8 day hike in Kings Canyon and a few day hike in Tahoe in HS and was ok with the altitude. Obviously a bit of a break in period but nothing horrible. i'm also built for it...

+1 getting my routine and packing down was 80% of my shake down hikes before my Long trail thru hike. And it only improved as I went along. I was doing 18-20mi/day in 10-12hr hiking 2mph avg in...

Justin, I found it rude since the article was about his hike, his plans etc. HYOH BS artists always find passive aggressive ways of hinting that "their way" is superior in various way...

A lot of many trails is dull brown dirt with trees all around.. hiking quickly from one view spot to another sees the same as someone trudging along. perhaps more since I have time to enjoy the vi...

French fried onions added to Pasta Sides or.. just about anything adds light calories, flavor and crunch. 180cal/oz of yum. can of pringles is nearly 1000cal and fits nicely into a side water...
