K Cups
At home I use my DeLonghi Magnifica to make espresso shots, but on the trail I am more than satisfied with Folgers Singles. Why over-complicate things? Most on here aren't still doing involved,...

If you get thru everything down south too fast, you should go to Moab, and hit Canyonlands-Arches-Dead Horse Point.

modify sleeping bag to quilt, how, or who?
Just cut the sleep pad pocket out, and you should be able to get a pretty good approximation. I haven't been able to find anyone who does a full blown conversion, and I tried, because I wanted ...

Gas Prices Making You Cranky?
Jerry, fracking won't affect either of those. There's a lot of it going on, but it's not going to make a enough of a difference to change the inefficiency of alternatives. They'll e...

Gas Prices Making You Cranky?
I love it when people talk about fracking. Hilarious. It's not like it's new, been practiced extensively since the 1950s. And I swore I would never post in chaff again, but it was worth it ...

Gas Prices Making You Cranky?
Not a bit. I swore when oil was $9 a barrel I would never complain about gas prices again. I can understand your pain, but we're in a little different situation. Funny, I sold my Benz when face...

hexamid users: which size would you choose?
Not much additional weight, and a lot more versatile to get the 2p. It will be a palace when solo, and still a lot lighter than the Hubba.

Marmot Atom Mens Regular 40 Degree
Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

I have to ding it a little for the hip belt. I think the hip belts on the large runs small, because it didn't wrap around me enough to be effective. And that may not be fair to ding it, because al...

Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
