My Locale Boulder, CO
About Me I started backpacking as a teenager in southern appalachia. My summers in college were spent in mountain heaven, glacier national park. Since then, I've lived and played in the high sierras, the cascades, and now the colorado front range. Walking into the mountains for a few days with a light pack never seems to lose its charm. Also a snapper of many photos. Check out my instagram for short visual trip reports and such.

If its primarily for in camp and sleeping, down would be a little more efficient. The ghost whisperer is around half the weight of the atom LT, and I imagine about as warm. If you think its som...

I'd agree that the helios and the sparks are both good bets based on your description. I'd add the Nike Terra Kiger and Zoom Wildhorse (similar shoes) to your list as well. The terra kiger ...

I'd second the Helios suggestion. An excellent super grippy, low drop shoe, but you'll feel the drop coming from 0. Nathan, seems like most people find the Helios runs about 1 size small. ...

merrell ascend love
Try on the merell ascend glove. Dries quick, zero drop & just enough protection for rocky terrain. More minimal than the lone peak, but more nimble IMO. Can be had for $60 on sale.

A light hooded down jacket is what I'd bring for the pct, no question. Nothing will be as warm for the weight & the relatively dry pct conditions don't warrant the extra weight and size...

@ Facundo, I'd second the recommendation for equilibrium for running & the nomad or crest would prob be where I'd first look. I have a hoodless TNF running windshirt made out of a simil...

The short answer is no its not as breathable as a softshell, particularly nonmembrain softshells. Neoshell does come in softshell form though. Bpl did a big rainshell review a couple years ago that...

I used meco 120 much of last summer in CO, & I often run in a meco short sleeve. It wouldn't be my first choice hot weather piece, but its passable & one of the lighter/cooler wool shir...

I'm very impressed with this pack. I tried out a few packs for a planned AT thru hike (didn't pan out yet), and this was far and a away my favorite. With the stay and sitpad, the pack conforms...
