Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River, Yosemite National Park, California
Great photos and I'm sure it was a great trip. I hiked the canyon in late May 2007(a very low snow year) and remember it fondly (well not the mosquitos). I wouldn't mind going back again.

Video Camera Recommendations
Another idea would be to check out Sanyo's Xacti line of camcorders. The video quality isn't nearly as good, but they are small and light (even have waterproof or at least resistant models).
