My Locale Eastern Idaho (moved from Midwest)
About Me Electrical Engineer by trade. Hobbies include recumbent bike riding, magic, piano, music compostion and of course backpacking.

Backpack monthly with scouts or other small group. Love the exercise and alertness it brings. Ray Way caught my eye in 2001. My load lightened. Because of that, able to go faster, farther, AND still smell the roses. Love the lightweight insight on this forum. I'm also a Teva sandal backpacker. My feet love them.

Re: does your down sleeping bag have continuous baffles?
I have not learned to appreciate continuous baffles. I so love our WM Caribou and POD30 (but recently sold). They are box stitched and thus I never had to worry about the down shifting during the n...

Re: Radiant sleep pads in summer
It’s only 90F at night with 90% humidity; I’ve ran into that a lot in the Midwest. And then you’re sleeping on a pad that radiates your body heat back up to you. Great. On those trips I on...

Welcome aboard. You may be getting the alcy stove addiction. Very nice comparisons. I’m not sure why you put 2 ‘Total Weight’ columns. That’s an interesting way to look at it. Take ‘To...
