That should be a good trip. In fact that same weekend, I am starting at Wallace Gap (Old 64) and hiking into Wesser (74). As for boxers, I prefer synthetic, but know others prefer wool.

Luckily where I am at we don't have super cold temps or enough snow for skiing. My most expensive piece of gear was probably my Mountain Hardwear Phantom 0. I think I paid $400 for it.
