Brad, Tenkaras are best for fishing small streams. Rod and reel set ups are better for lakes.

This isn't a stream, but Hood Mountain in Santa Rosa has some ponds that are full of bass. Fishing in them is almost too easy. It's a short hike in.

I remember reading somewhere that the coast just south of Shelter Cove was really dangerous and impassable. But maybe the trail goes around the beaches.

What are some things you don't carry but others usually do? I don't carry: Soap Toothpaste T.P. A stove (i usually make a small fire to cook) Tarp stakes (i use sticks)
