About Me Grew up family car/boat camping and then Boundary Waters camping starting in my teen years and into upper 20s. Took up backpacking around 30 and in 2006 started having knee problems which quickly put me down the road to lightweight backpacking... the transition is still ongoing and obsessively addictive even though I have pretty much resolved my knee problems.

A few things I like better... I've had both. I like the material better than Dyneema. It seems more durable, but only time will tell. I like the look of it too. I prefer the roll-top over...

Re: Tilley Size??
The Tilley is Khaki. Size is 7 1/2. Only worn a few times. I don't think there are any stains or signs of wear, but I can check when I get home after work.

Re: Mountain Laurel Designs....
The Duomid would be really tight for 2 people and a dog. I have an MLD Supermid, but that is beyond your price range. I would 2nd an Oware pyramid tarp. I'd say minimum 8'x8'.
