My Locale Boulder, CO
About Me I started backpacking as a teenager in southern appalachia. My summers in college were spent in mountain heaven, glacier national park. Since then, I've lived and played in the high sierras, the cascades, and now the colorado front range. Walking into the mountains for a few days with a light pack never seems to lose its charm. Also a snapper of many photos. Check out my instagram for short visual trip reports and such.

Yeah, if you sleep warm in PNW 3 season, then you could save even more weight & go with a 30 degree zpacks Katabatic or EE. As far as hood/hoodless, I wouldn't use a quilt without a hoo...

bags vs quilts
11 oz saves a fair amount of weight, but its also a pretty big item to replace without knowing if it'll work for you. I've owned WM & marmot bags that I loved, but switched to Katabatic...

Sense Ultra, Helios, Ascend Glove (11-11.5)
I like to size down for technical trail running, but I think I may have overdone it with these. The sense (11.5) and helios (45.5) are basically new, never worn running, only tried on for sizing a ...

If photography is important to you, than absolutely its worth it. I learned photography on old dslrs, like the Nikon D70, and I never thought I'd be carrying something as light and small as the...

Marmot Essence (2014)
I've read a couple very positive reviews of marmot nano pro fabric. I take this sort of thing with a grain of salt, but you might want to check out this review:

I'm relatively new to trail running but I'm training for my first (short) ultra & I did a couple of 30 mile mountain runs last summer that have me (over)thinking about the same gear que...

I'm very impressed with this pack. I tried out a few packs for a planned AT thru hike (didn't pan out yet), and this was far and a away my favorite. With the stay and sitpad, the pack conforms...
