Re: Help Deciding which Caldera Cone
I have two cones- one for a BPL SUL-1100 and also a Caldera Keg-F system. Both are fantastic- you're buying the right stove! I mainly do dehydrated meals, soups, and oatmeal. I use the Cal...

I agree with the comments above. The forum piece that I'd love the most is some kind of auto html link feature. Every time I want to post a link, I have to do an google search for "inser...

Re: Pack Question continued
I never compress insulation either- still too big...at least for what I carry. If it's right for you, I doubt it will be for long, as you get smaller and lighter items... A lot of people pu...

Re: Pack Q
Agreed- you have a great list coming together and it will pack small. The G4 is a monster. Sweet pack, but I'd consider this more of a winter pack when you're carrying lots of insulation....

Re: SpinnTwinn users... tarp too big for solo + gear use?
I've not used the SpinnTwinn but have used tarps of that size. One downside of a larger tarp is a reduction in wind stability; it's easier to get a smaller tarp really taut in wind. Tha...

Fair enough Sid. If someone didn't have experience with Cuben, they might not know that the fabric has a very high tear strength and a low stretch, but low puncture and abrasion resistance. ...

Re: Petras, Franco, and Louis- PCT hike
Hey Petras and Franco, Here's a funny story about the PCT route you walked: In 2004 I wanted to see if I could go Stevens to Snoqualmie in 48 hours- I pulled it off southbound in just und...
