Re: Smokies next weeking, bug report please.
I was on the other side of the park last weekend. Bugs are out, particularly at lower elevations and around water like CS86 is. I didn't have a bug net and was fine, but I think that was prob...

Re: WM UltraLite vs. Marmot Helium 15 vs. MH Phantom 15
They are all three nice bags. One main difference is the shoulder girth. I know the Ultralite is 59", the Phantom is 60", and the Helium is 62". If you are a bigger guy the Helium...

Re: Best non-inflatable pad?
Ridgerest by far. It is more durable and comfortable than a Z-lite, though a lot bulkier. Ridgerests generally come in under the advertised weight too, most 3/4 models are around 9oz and the full...

Re: Anyone experience the SMD Feather? ....and other pack advice.
I have the '10 Swift (before the stay) and love it. I use a closed cell foam pad however and I can see where the stay would be good if you use an inflatable pad.

Re: What is your favorite liner style glove?
My favorites are the Mountain Hardwear Powerstreatch Gloves, that are 1.3oz, but I also like some Lands End Thermacheck 100 gloves that are .9oz per pair. I go through a pair every season or two, ...

Re: Southern AT in June - Planning Resources?
I would expect the weather to be hot and humid, temps probably in the eighties at least until you reach the higher elevations of North Carolina. Because of the mild winter, I think the bugs/ticks ...

Re: Re: Full dyneema packs from Gossamer Gear?
I think they mean dyneema grid, not the full dyneema like McHale or Cilogear. GG used a lighter version of the dyneema grid on the new Murmur.
