iPhone 4 GPS apps
I switched to an iPhone 4 a few weeks ago, and I like the multi-function idea of using it as my GPS device. I only use GPS on occasion, primarily to verify my location in situations where there mig...

Tyvek pants
I used to use O2 Rainwear (still wish they made them in other colors), and I've also used the Driducks/Drop Stopper brand, and compared to those Propore garments I would say Tyvek is more durab...

Washington hikes
So many choices... The PCT north of Hwy 2 (Stevens Pass) is very nice, and I've done a couple of trips in the Sawtooth Wilderness area just east of Lake Chelan that were exceptionally good. ...

Me too
The heaviest backpack weight I ever carried was 63 pounds, into the Wind Rivers (I think it was 1979) for what was supposed to be a two week north-to-south traverse. My friend was carrying 64 pound...
