Hmmm.... Well, we got the Phantom 32 last night. Her MB jacket should arrive in the next couple days. She slept for a bit in my MB jacket (obviously too big) in the bag and said she was comfortable. I... |

Montbell vs. POE... Mark, I'm interested in your experience because these are the two pads I've been debating between. They are different animals obviously - one being 1" thick and the other 2.5"... |

Quilts... If she was willing, I'd get her a quilt (which would solve the "is-it-girthy-enough" talk). I, and probably most of us here at BPL, do what Tjaard said - bring the clothes you need t... |

R-Value table... Ahhh... upon close inspection, Jason is right. POE should really fix the labeling on that chart - it is misleading and actually under-represents their products. |

Very true... I agree with you on the heavy parka issue. Here's the thing though... my wife slept last weekend in a Marmot Never Summer (manf. states 0 degrees) and a fleece bag liner... and the low was 30 ... |

REI Blue Foam... REI sells that blue foam that is a little heavier per square inch than the Thinlight stuff, but it doesn't have the grippiness that the Thinlights do. While this grip is nice to keep you from ... |

Mountain Laurel Designs Superlight My bivy comes in at 6.3 ounces after removing the bungee that can be tied to the top of your tarp (to keep the fabric off your face). I was holding out forever for a Side Zip Vapr bivy, but after w... |

GoLite Jam2 What I like: 1) The shape of the shoulder straps fit me well, I never have to use the sternum strap (I removed it). The padding on the shoulders is very plush as well. 2) The very wide fabric c... |

Golite Ultra 20 I should preface that I am no quilt connoisseur. The only other quilts I've tried were a Jacks R' Better and an MLD quilt. (Both great products, just not what I was looking for). My size ... |

Montbell UL Down Inner Jacket I love this jacket. My size large weighs in at 7.2 ounces. So far I haven't noticed any real down leakage. It is so light that when I toss it it "floats". It also packs nice and smal... |
